Social Value UK is proud to announce William Alexander Consulting as a Social Value Pioneer! Ahead of their joining, Social Value UK spoke to them about their social value journey so far.
“William Alexander Consulting is a specialist Technology and Business Transformation consultancy, providing high-quality, outcome-based Professional Services to a variety of private and public sector organisations across the UK.
One of the founding goals of William Alexander was to provide direct support to our local community in Brighton & Hove, one of the most deprived areas in the South East of England.
To that end William Alexander, in partnership with Sussex Community Foundation, established The William Alexander Fund have awarded over £60,000 in grants to a variety of grass roots charities and local community groups who are making a real and positive impact on people’s day to day lives.
Through these grants we have been able to support disadvantaged or vulnerable children, refugees, the homeless, the elderly and local people suffering from poor mental health, dementia and cerebral palsy.
We also offer all our employees two paid volunteer days to work for local community groups who can benefit from their time.”
Ahead of their joining, we asked them a few questions
Why do you think social value is important? In your organisation, your industry or in wider society?
We believe that companies should not just be about making profits, but also to provide a wider value to society not only in terms of providing high quality job opportunities, but also to benefit the people in the wider local community who need help the most.
Does your organisation have a background in social value/social accounting/SROI?
We have not engaged in any formal social accounting or reporting as yet but we understand the importance of good data and we hope that enrolling in the SVUK training courses will help us to better measure the SROI of our activities.
What are your plans for your SVUK membership?
We wish to use the membership training courses to help us to better understand the impact of our own social value activities so that we can direct our resources in the best ways possible and also to collaborate with other like minded companies and individuals to provide greater Social Value.
