Social Value UK are proud to announce that our member, Leighanne Baynham has achieved Level One Associate Practitioner status.
Ahead of this announcement, we spoke to Leighanne about his experience with the assessment process…
Why have you decided to undertake the Social Value International Professional Pathway?
I wanted a full understanding of Social Value and what ‘value’ really meant to society and how businesses could help to achieve the value. The Social Value Practitioner route gave a practical application of the principles.
What did you learn and find useful from this assessment process?
Learning how the value would be perceived by those ‘receiving it’ and how to understand what this value is. There is a lot of work to be completed to understand this and people’s perceptions. What I found useful was how the value could be perceived very differently by those creating it and those receiving it.
Now that you are a Level 1 Associate Practitioner what do you plan to do next to develop your practice? How do you plan to use your practitioner skills?
By promoting the Social Value principles in my business as part of the process of creating value – ensuring we understand what the actual value is and how it could be measured.
You have now joined a community of practice around the globe. What does this mean to you and why do you want to participate and contribute to the development of the methodology and overall social value movement?
Having a wider network of practice helps gain knowledge and understanding of what value is, the more interaction there is the better we can all understand social value and how much value we can create.
“I’m really pleased to have become a Level 1 Associate Practitioner with Social Value International. I am really looking forward to being able to raising awareness about how we the world should account for value.”
