Memex 2021 – Social Value, Placemaking and the Sustainable Development Goals
A panel discussion followed by an open discussion with attendees to define a more explicit relationship between social value and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), whilst also exploring the key social value elements of placemaking.
This discussion will be hosted and facilitated by Frances Toomey who will explore the growing awareness of social value in placemaking for local authorities and its role in strategic planning. Becca Harvey will share insights to the relationship between SROI and the SDGs, as well as international developments around the SDG Impact Standards. From a more place-based perspective, Wesley Ankrah will give some examples of how he works with developers to embed social value into the development process and Liam Ronan-Chlond will talk about how he, as a developer, incorporates social value into his work and how it overlaps with sustainability.
