Hello SVUK members,
My name is Viswanathan Veerappan, and I am excited to join this vibrant community focused on social value. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Prosperity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at University College London, where I am deepening my understanding of social value frameworks and sustainable development practices in the UK. I will be completing my course by September and am actively seeking internships or full/part-time roles as a Social Value Officer or Social Value Manager, so please feel free to share any opportunities you come across!
With a background in corporate social responsibility, I have worked as an Assistant Manager at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, where I developed comprehensive social value reporting systems and established strategic partnerships to enhance community engagement. My experience also includes leading impactful projects such as the RedFlag App, which supported government teachers working with special needs children, and managing a digital literacy initiative that reached over 2.8 million beneficiaries.
I am particularly passionate about fostering community well-being and creating innovative programs that drive social impact. I look forward to engaging with all of you, sharing insights, and learning from your experiences in the field.

Welcome to our new social value forum exclusively for our member community! We do hope this is a useful resource for you all.
Please do drop in and say hello as you sign up to the members area, we invite you to share a bit about yourselves, and your interests and work in social value.
I’ll kick things off, my name is Catherine Manning, I am the Operations Director at Social Value UK. I lead on our membership engagement with my colleagues in our Engagement Team. I also lead our Technical Team who develop and deliver our social value training, assurance and accreditation services, and project delivery, as well as developing tools, and guidance. A few exciting developments at the moment include our recently piloted Navigating the Social Value Landscape programme, and our collaboration with Envoy Partnerships in relaunching the Global Value Exchange.
I also lead on our Contract for Change programme working with our members and community to develop better principles based social value practice in commissioning, procurement and contracting. Do check out the website here: https://contractforchange.org/
In SVUK we work closely with the Social Value International team and global network. I sit on the SVI board, the SVI Reporting and Assurance Technical Committee, and the Training and Professional Development taskforce.
